At Ten Thousand Villages we are passionate about people. The work we do helps create life-changing opportunities every day for individuals,
families and communities around the world.
Ten Thousand Villages strives to be an employer of choice for exceptional people. We welcome highly motivated and well-qualified staff members
who are committed to the people-driven mission behind our work. We offer meaningful career opportunities in our Distribution Centre and Head Office in New Hamburg, Ontario, as well as in our network of stores across Canada. Be sure to consider our great volunteer opportunities.
Looking for a job with meaning? Have a passion for people and Fair Trade? We offer career opportunities in our Head Office in New Hamburg and in our stores across Canada.
Our volunteers give their time, one or more days on a weekly or monthly basis, depending on their interest and availability.
Volunteers spend time doing practical tasks around the store like receiving inventory, interacting with customers,
ringing in sales and helping with other tasks that make for the smooth running of the store.
"Ten Thousand Villages has become a kind of second home for me.
I love being surrounded with the beautiful work that our artisans make in countries all over the world. It is a pleasure to share these articles
and their stories with customers, knowing that we are giving support to people who need it and depend on us for their livelihood.
Ten Thousand Villages has changed my way of seeing the world." - Marie Blydt-Hansen, volunteer
We seek to open new Ten Thousand Villages retail stores in thriving retail markets across Canada. It generally takes between 12-18 months for a group to start a store,
including the fundraising that is required. All Ten Thousand Villages stores are not-for-profit and any surplus garnered from a store is used for expanding new market opportunities
and building the capacity of the artisans to be successful.
A new store launch requires a committed group of people dedicated to the vision of Ten Thousand Villages. The success of a new store
depends on a strong local Board of Directors who oversee store operations, fundraising and general staffing.
