When many Haitian artisans come across a discarded 55-gallon metal oil drum, they don’t see trash. They see an opportunity to create beautiful cut metal art, (also known as fer de coup), a revived traditional handicraft. Artisans cut open 55-gallon drums, pound them flat, and then mark designs on the black metal with chalk. Using a chisel, they cut through the metal to make designs. This photos doesn't do this fabulous wall hanging justice!
